Freshwater diP?

Quick question, how does a freshwater dip remove ich parasite off of fish? What does the freshwater do to the parasite? And would the white specks be gone instantly after the dip?

You might want to bring this question over to the fish disease and treatment forum .You might have better luck getting it answered from some of the experts over there.

It will get few, if any ich parasites. The white spot is not the bug itself, but a protective coating that the bug secretes to protect itself. (from stuff like FW dips. Sooner or later, you're going to have to come to grips with fact that, if your fish have ich, they need hypo or copper. Neither is easy; but the only outcome of not doing it is dead fish.

All this will do is speed up the parasite's life-cycle. This is more effective in FW. Marine ich is not a cold water paraite, it lives in all tropical reefs in the world, often at temps considerably higher than our tanks,
