freshwater shark help needed

i have 2 iridescent sharks. one is older than other and lots bigger. is there any way to tell male from female and does anyone know if they are live bearers or egg layers? my largest one is getting big as if may have babies on board. not sure as it is big anyway.

I don't know if you will find much help here since it is a saltwater board.
And fishbase didn't have much on sexing them...but they do get HUGE
It is a species of catfish I believe called Pangasius hypophthalmus

everytime i had fresh w sharks they jumped into the filter...
needless to say i stuck with ciclids
