Frogspawn Question

Is a frogspawn photosynthetic and/or does it need to be spot fed? If it does need to be spot fed, what should it be fed? :notsure:

Yes they are photosynthetic... what kind of lighting do you have??
They will also except food but lighting is the most important.

Mine seldom responded well to target feeding...but lots of folks claim they'll munch on meaty type offerings. Mine has always done fine just with adaquate lighting. they can be very adaptable and do well under low/moderate/high light sources.

Thanks NMReef. The reason I was asking was because I've noticed my frogspawn having small tentacles. They almost look like small stubs. I do not know if it is growing or receding?
I don't know if you can see the small stubs on the frogspawn. Those are the stubs that I'm talking about. The rest of the frogspawn looks healthy. Do you think they are new growth?. Thanks.

I have T-5 lighting, 144 watts of it and 2x65w actinic power compacts. Also, when frogspawns grow do the hard-stony stems branch out as well or do only the heads multiply?

the heads branch out and split to mulitply.
and yes it is a hammer to agree with everyone
but i disagree that it is new growth. Ive seen little heads pop up or them actualy split, but they shouldnt be all short like that. Ive only seen that when they are taking food (and you said yours hasnt?), or when a powerheads is right on them. Is there a powerhead with a stream running right to where those tenticles would expand.? I also saw it on my frogspawn when i had PCs, but switched to MH and have not seen it since. But then again hammers dont like as much light.
