I have been warned that some pepperment shrimp do mess with corals, others dont. I dont know how to explain this better but some are "true" which do not bother corals (I have heard the peps. on this site are reef safe) and some are "false" which tend to nip at them. Until you catch them in the act if they are the problem I would not take them out. Regardless, good luck.

Camelback shrimp LOOK just like Pepps. but with a slightly different color pattern. They are often sold as pepps and mistaken for pepps and vice versa. If you have camelback that could be the problem , but most likely not, as they dont typically mess with euphyllia (to my knowl;edge, which means nothing). It is worth looking into though. My guess is that the params are off. Have you changed your lights, fed it enough, fed it ALOT, any difference to possibly set things ascew?

i had to let you all know i went to lfs and picked up some prime to add to the tank and the levels are all back to normal i went to look in with flash light and one of the heads of my frogspawn is now open back up some and the lights are even off, that stuff is really a good indicator when something is not right in the tank, if i would have paid more attention to it closing up earlier i might not have lost 2 fish though lost clown and clown goby as well, clown had brookenlya and couldnt get it out to treat it in time and it passed and the clown goby passed this am, other tonight, i really hate it bc i had just got the other clown for the one i have now so they could pair up and they was doing really good swimming together alot.
maybe i will try another sometime. one question though since the tank levels was off could that have caused the clown to get that brookenyla? i know it affected the frogspawn and i thought it was the emerald but i put him back in tonight. wasnt alot of time thinking it was him when i coud have maybe saved the fish as well,

I would say everyone should have this in their arsenal to help when problems arise. Very good and safe product for just the reason you needed it for. I use it mostly to de-chlorinate my filter pads when I wash them. It can be a life saver sometimes. Hope everything goes well

I have a peppermint that is messing with my new zoo's....he keeps on digging into the middle of them and they close up tight, yet he keeps on digging....should I take him out of my tank?
man he's ticking me off!
thanks,

I would keep a close eye on both him and the coral. If they stay closed and look damaged I do not see any reason not to take the shrimp out.

I have a pepp, and the little bugger always steals from my cynarina, my candy, my zoas, but never the bubble or frogspawn. They are programmed to be the ultimate scavengers. it still is frustrating. I feel ya all. Nonetheless, I believe 82 F to be to high. That is about as hot as any tropical water ever gets. I have my chiller on my 24 g set to 76 F. Temp could definitely contribute to unhappy corals. It causes bleaching for craps sake. As well, too much flow on the fspawn could have caused the inability to open. But it sounds like you have it under control. Frequent water checks are totally necessary in any tank. I am glad you got it figured out, and I am sure you learned a thing or two, which is what this all about anyway, right.
Congrats

do you ever spot feed the peppermint? doesnt hurt to give them a meaty delight every other day.
