Frogspawn

So my tank has been up and cycling for about a month now. I know its still as young as it gets but I was wondering when I can get a Frogspawn. Ive got good water flow, skimmer, filter, T5 lights, live sand, 55lbs+ live rock, the whole shabang. Im not looking to have tons and tons of corals but I just wanna know if I can put a frogspawn in any time soon. I dont know anything about them so if you could maybe tell me if I feed them, what do I feed them, what type of light they need, etc.

Frogspawns are pretty hardy corals, but I would wait and let your tank mature a little before putting one in. I would get a couple of fish in there and make sure that your levels are good and you aren't dealing with a ton of nuisance algae.
Need a little more info on the lighting to know if you are alright in that area. What size tank and how many T5 HO bulbs are you running. You are more than likely just fine on your lighting, just want to make sure.
Frogspawns don't have to fed to thrive, although if you want to spot feed them once or twice a week it won't hurt. If you neeed any more info just ask.

I have a 55g tank. 2x12000k, 2x Actinic for the lighting. Ive got a few hardy fish in there at the moment. What levels are checking out all good. I bought the basic Saltwater test kit though. Can I buy individual tests for reefs?

Maybe wait a just a bit longer.
Magnesium and Phosphates would be the first in addition to the normal test. Frogs are good as a starter, they can withstand a little more than many others can.
Here are shots of a single stem Frog I started in 86, and a shot with around 20 heads taken last year. The white stuff showing under him in the second shot is a white Sponge......
Good Luck with yours........ Warren

i had my frogspawn in my tank after a month of setting up my tank. they dont like strong water flow. put it some where where it is close to the top of the tank with absolutely no water flow.
IME i think it will do really good under T5's cause thats what i had mine under when i got it and it look beautiful and then i got stronger power compact lights with more wattage and it didnt open up as big as it did B4. they are amazing coral. it is one of my favorite corals of all time as well as torch coral and hammer coral. they are very similar. and look amazing in a tank together.

Yes Joe has a good point to remember.
A Frog's sweepers can reach way out. My bigger one sweeps out in the evenings a good 6 or 7 inches. Do not let some other types of expensive corals fall prey to them..... Some they will not harm others they will.
