Just like the title says,
Im wondering what your ideas are on a fu manchu in a 44g reef. Its a tall corner until, 5 sided. the tank is pretty 'empty' considering.. tank is 22-24" tall fyi, DSB. varies from 1" to 5+" depending on gobys activities

2x65w PC/actinic/moon fixture (orbit), 1x150w MH, overflow/ wet-dry and skimmer rated for a 75g.
Corals: 2 x zoo rocks, rics, dendros, xenia, leather toadstool, gorgonia, frogspawn
The only other fish I have is a diamond goby and a mandarin (mandarins like 3-4" and fat.. so i dont think he'll get eaten)
inverts: snails, em. crabs, pom pom crab, feathers, scallop, nudi (lettuce)
I saw dwarf lion at my lfs and now im in love. Would it HONESTLY be a good/bad idea to get a fu manchu (usually up to 4" size)
opinions please
Please see pics of my tank below so you can get an idea of the space I have/dont have.

in reality, almost all inverts would get eaten, and pending if the mandarin gets close to it, it will too. I would get one though, they're cool.

I have read that fu manchu lions are extremely difficult to care for becuase they only eat live food. Anyone else heard this?

a negative! thanks lol
Ive read that they require a 30g + because they only get 3-4".
What size do you think is reccommended then?
Mines a 44g
heres a pic of one in case anyone was curious

personally yes its big enough, I've seen dwarfs kept (healthy) in 20 longs for years before. 44g is fine, given enough hiding space, which I'm sure it'll find.

where do you even get a fu manchu? Ive never seen them in the LFS and not too many places online have them that ive seen. the are usually an "email when its in stock" type of item.

I had one in my 55. 44 is more than enough. Mine ate the frozen mix I made. (shrimp squidd etc) He even went after the mysis I put in. I am not so sure I would try it with the shrimp. I doubt it would bother any hermits or snails. Your mandarin should be fine because chances are he will be too large to fit into the lions mouth.
