Fuge flow rate

What kind of flow rate in a fuge???

It depends on the macroalgae. People on here will all tell you different numbers, most will say a slower rate, but I disagree at least with chaetomorpha. My fuge is set up with a 40X turnover-600 gph in about a 15 gallon fuge. It has 3 different chambers with different amounts of flow in each, the places where the flow is the greatest, the chaeto grows best. I even went as far as to put some chaeto into my overflow to see what would happen. It grew the fastest far and away. I'm guessing the first chamber in my overflow may be 1/2 gallon, with 600 gph going through it that is a turnover of 1200X. All that said, it is based upon my personal experience that chaetomorpha does much better under a higher turnover rate.
