Fuge Lighting Schedule

I have the fuge on a reverse lighting schedule as of now, but I know some users keep theirs on 24/7. Should I have it on all the time or is reverse fine?

some people keep it reversed to reduce ph fluctuation at night. 24/7 wouldnt hurt if u maximum nutrient export.

I think I'm going to try 24/7 for a while because I'm getting a little hair algae since my tank is only about 2 months old... I also noticed that there is some red stuff growing around my chaeto... what is that?!

What type of algae do you have? I've heard that with Caulerpa, you want to keep it lit 24/7 and with Chaeto you want to go on and off. Does anyone know about this?
