Fuge Plumbing Question....

Hello Everybody,
I was planning on setting up my 65 reef again (Blackout in NYC few years ago claimed the tank
). My fuge will be a 29 gallon tank and my skimmer will be a MSX160 the footprint of the MSX200 is too big for this application unfortunately. I was doing some research on fuges and came across a design that can suit my needs. However, I have a few questions in regards to the plumbing and could not find an answer in the past posts so I have included a picture of the design.
A) Why is the return split with a T and going back into the fuge and the rest going into the display tank?
B) I plan on using only one overflow coming into the fuge, will a mag 7 be too much or too liitle for my return back to the tank?
C) I know that MSX160 needs 8-10" of water to operate properly and the depth is 18" deep do you think I can offset the this with maybe a glass stand of 11"?
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated

IMO, that is a little more complicated than it needs to be. You can just have one straight pipe as your drain that goes down into one side of the sump, and then another straight pipe as your return. A mag 7 is perfect if you plan on one overflow box.

Okay understood, But what about the skimmer?? As that side of the sump will have more than 10" inches of water in it so would I have to still elevate the skimmer??
Thanks again
