fuge question

I just bought a 10 gal tank to use for a fuge for my 55 gal. I have a shelf above my tank and will be putting it there. See if this sounds right??
I have a Rio 1200, that I will use to pump water up into the fuge, I was planning on using just hose for this. Then use PVC in a syphon setup to have water fall back down to the DT. Ok, any folks that have experience with this let me know if I am missing anything. Also do you use a heater in the fuge? I know I need lights, substrate, etc. but was not sure about the heater question.
Thanks

thought about something similiar to that for my tank.. just make sure the shelf can support close to 100 lbs.. believe it's roughly 8 lbs per gallon of water..

True, water is around 5-6lbs per gallon, the shelf will be secured to the studs in the wall.
Any suggestions on my scenario?? anyone???

what kind of shelf? use them 100lb or more screws with the plastic "sleeves". . not sure what they're called... better to go over then under... so i'd make sure the shelf can hold 100 lbs.. just my opinion. send some pics when your're done so i can get some ideas..:D
