Hah, i actually had 2 clams a few weeks ago... I let my g/f watch the tank while i was gone on vacation for 2 weeks, came back and both were dead! I still don't know exactly what happened. I want to try my hand at SPS in the near future...

Those are Green Star Polyps (GSP). I had to isolate them on the sand cause they are growing so fast.

Thanks, The tank is a 110 high. The lighting is Odyssea 2X250 MH + 4 65w Actinics - I replaced the ballasts with coralvue and changes the bulbs to 14k Hamiltons.

He may have been reffering to the tang and the tank not being 6 feet long.

Tangs are able to survive long term in a 48"... Mine is a lot deeper than say a 55 or 90 gallon as well, which offers a little more swimming room.

Thanks! I have about ~50 hermits, ~50 snails, 2 emerald crabs and a nice hunk of chaeto in the refugium/sump .

Very nice tank. Is that a painted background or plastic roll-out type? If painted, how did you do it?

How long have you had these lights for ?
Are you pleased with them and how long did you wait untill you changed the ballasts ?
Is there a noticable differnence since you c hanged the ballasts and switched to hamilton 14's from the odyssea 15k's ?

I have had the lights for about 5-6 months months now and changed the ballasts/bulbs out immediately. It makes a TON of difference!! If you search my past posts i have some pics of the differnce in the upgraded ballasts and lighting.
