I really hope someone can help on this. I have been having a problem with my baby ocellaris clowns. I have four, they were aquacultured and I believe they are all siblings. One began getting a white pimple/herpes/wartish whatever type growth on his lower lip. On wetwildweb I was told it might be lymphocytis. I actually found an old post on here with a percula who had a similar problem however a post was never made to tell what had happened with the problem. I took the babies out of the display tank and put them in the qt. the qt is 30 g however, only filled half way it's being filtered with a sponge filter that I left in my display tank for about 5 days. I have a couple of fake aquarium rocks in it and 3 pvc pipes for them to hide in. I have been treating them with Instant Ocean's Lifeguard which is supposed to be used for 5 days only and treat bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic marine fish diseases. They are on the 4th day of treatment and I noticed on the 2nd day of treatment one of the other babies developed a similar growth on the tip of its tail and today the 4th day a third baby has developed a large on on his pectoral fin, and it seems to go THROUGH his fin, so it's on both sides of his poor little fin! I have a coral beauty in the display who was around with the clowns in the display. Today I noticed she seems to have two scratches on her cornea, it looks kinda cloudy so I am not sure if it's a fungal thing or if it's an injury. I couldn't get her out with the clowns bc she's hard to catch I have to get a fish catcher thing so I don't have to take apart the whole tank. Here are the parameters of the display: pH 8.2, ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitrate 5.0ppm, and salinity 1.022ppt, the QT pH 8.2, ammonia 0.25ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitrate 0ppm, and salinity 1.023ppt. Yes I know the ammonia is bad I think I've been overfeeding them. I am going to do a partial water chnge tomorrow and I have been feeding them hikari biopure frozen mysis shrimp, hikari dried brine shrimp, and a bulk reef flake food from my lfs. Then I read Beth's post on diet and disease so I made a homemade fish food following her recipe. I have mussels, shrimp, clam, cuttlefish, octopus, scallops, kelp, chard, fresh garlic, and kent's zoecon. I prepared it as she explained and then froze it in sheets to feed them as I go. The display is a 55 g and does have a wet/dry and a protein skimmer. OH I forgot to mention when I went to the lfs on Sunday and the leftover clown siblings of my clowns also had the same growths and the lfs said to just pull them out and scrape it off! Anyhow I'm beginning to think it's genetic for them. Here are the pictures if you can help I would be forever grateful!!!
