hi um i just got a fuzzy dwarf lion about a month ago he is doing fine but after about the first week i got him he changed from a reddish brown to a pale white and a little bit brown. so i was wondering if they can change colors cuz i read in this other forum about this ladies dwarf lion that would change colors based on its surroundings and mood. i kind of think this is true cuz the lfs i got him from had alot of red in there tank and my tanks only got some live rock sand and brown algae. also i came up with this training method for feeding frozen food i hung a small bucket in my tank with holes i have my lion fish currently in the bucket and every 3 days i try to feed him he ate last week and i was wondering if this was a good idea and if u had any other suggestions. thank you

The lion is in the bucket? That is not a good idea at all. He has to feel comfortable to eat. Faded colors usually indicate stress.

I agree. It's normal for them to change colors a little but if he's really faded, that means stress. Why is the fish in the bucket? I didn't understand that.

He's sectioned off in a little area while enjoying the stability of the larger cycled tank... well that's the premise anyways.

I am sorry that you lost him. Lions like to hide in the rock and come out to get their food. You were almost force feeding him, which doesn't go over too well with lions. If you get another, forget the bucket technique. My fuzzy would only nibble at food while in the QT. Once he was in the display he would eat anything, and still does.
