Fuzzy dwarf

A while ago I decided to start a second tank, 40gal just for a fuzzy dwarf lionfish. I put in crushed coral on the bottom because I read it's easier to clean than sand. Also some LR. Then I have two HOB filters, one with sponge and carbon and the second with LR rubble, sort of a small fuge. I let everything cycle for 3-4 weeks and today I got my little fuzzy. I put in some ghost shrimp. Don't know if it ate them but I was looking and I don't see them anymore.
Any advice on making the little guy happy? Are ghost shrimp ok to start with? I plan to switch over to frozen food like raw shrimp and silverside.
Also, is there any cleanup crew I can get that it won't eat?

The lion will not bother snails and hermits. He will likely eat a shrimp though. Ghost fhrimp are great to start them on. Don't be surprised if he does not want to eat for a few days at first. To ween him over to frozen, add some ghost shrimp into a cup with some fresh garlic. Get him used to the smell, this is after he is already used to eating the shrimp. Then add some garlic to frozen krill. He will, or should, associate the smell with the food that he has been eating. You may have to play with the krill a little at first to get him to eat it. Mine happily eats any frozen that I put into the tank.

Thanks!
I saw it eat a ghost shrimp this morning, so I think it'll be ok. How often do you feed lions? And how much? Also, at the beginning, do I put in one ghost shrimp at a time or a couple or more?

Mine eats every day. Some people feed every other day. That realy wouldn't work with my lion because he goes after any food that I put in the tank and I feed my other fish everyday. They will beg, once eating well, but they do not realy need to be fed everyday. You can add one shrimp at a time to be sure that he eats it.

Mine eats every other day. He always begs for food but gets really picky if I try and feed on consecutive days. So for now I stick with every other day.

Good advice on this post! IMO,a healthy, tame lion always acts hungry. When they have no competition for food, they can really over-eat sometimes. Just use common sense, offer a variety; and IMO, vitamin supplements (like Selcon) are really a must for most fish-- but especially Lions. I think this might be, because they are predators, they don"t get the nutrition found in the "guts" of their prey when in captivity.
(Anyone ever notice how some carnivores, like Triggers, will eat a live fish from the insides out.Probably to get the liver, etc.?) I'm not suggesting FW feeders, just an observation.
