I was wondering about the lake maliwie (did I spell that right?)
cichlid venustus: how large of a tank should it be in?, how big does it get?, does it need extra filtration like a skimmer or somethin'?, and what would be ideal tankmates for it?.
P.S. Sorry about all the Q's.

I would not put a pair of Nimbochromis venustus in anything smaller than a 55 gallon tank; they can get up to 10 inches but probably won't get quite that large, maybe 6-8 inches. If you want to breed them you might consider 1 male for 2 females (and a proportionately larger tank).
For filtration make sure it is sufficient. Large capacity canister filters will work, perhaps even a wet-dry system with sump.
I would be careful about tankmates. Only add other species from Lake Malawi, perhaps some Mbunas, but take into consideration their size or they may become a meal for the Venustus. Although I would probably not add any tankmates with such potentially large fish who are quite aggressive.
I hope this helps.
