G3 Discontinued?

I was at circut city today to look at cameras and the sales associate told me that canon has discontinued production on the G3 because of the lens problem. I find this hard to believe, and cant find anything on canon's home page. But i thought i would ask here too.

Bull.
That is why you don't buy cameras from certain uninformed people.
The Canon G3 is still on the market.......it just came out a couple months ago. Canon is not nearly as bad as some other companies when it comes to discontinuing products. Also, do you really think that Canon wouldn't notice a production flaw? They test and re-test these cameras for months.
The lens is also not a "problem". It shows up in the viewfinder but, not in the actual photo. That is how the camera is designed. If the lens wasn't in the viewfinder.......the camera would have to be twice as large.

Thats what i figured. I didnt think that they would pull it that fast, the only possible thing that i could come up with was a G4? Have you heard anything about a G4 being released maybe?

g3 is fairly new on the market, i don't think there will be a g4 anytime soon.
