tomorrow is national signing day and we just got the commitment from the #1 high school Runningback in the nation. he will join the youngest team from any BCS conference, a team that will return 18 starters from this past season. booyah.
oh, and our basketball team is a week removed from beating the #1 team in the country. booyah again.

Downey is unreal.
The offense should be better next year if the line can figure out what blocking means.
Go C....well you know, it will get censored here...

That was dirty when we pulled out the Auburn hat first, then switched to the Gamecocks hat behind it

South Carolina has had good recruiting classes and great atheletes for several years now...Unfortunately football is a game where you need a good QB to elite, until South Carolina gets an elite QB they will continue to be middle of the pack.

And FYI, your recruiting class is only ranked 16th for next year, which ranks 6th in the SEC....And I'm being generous giving you rivals.com, the other big scouting site (scoutsinc) has South Carolina 34th.

Stephen Garcia, a sophomore this past season, was the #2 rated QB in the SEC behind only Arkansas' Ryan Mallett. QB is not the issue.
as the other poster said, the OL is the issue. We have 4 of 5 OL starters returning and are signing 7 OL commits today, and we have a new OL coach.
our WR corp is one of the best in the nation and in a year or two, will be THE best in the nation. Alshon Jeffery is the second coming of Sidney Rice and Tori Gurley is the second coming of Kenny McKinley.
our D is consistently top 10-15.
and now we have the #1 RB coming out of high school.

You can go to page 2 if you want a better breakdown of your mediocre class coming in. Running Backs are a dime a dozen, just take a look at what you're competing against in the SEC..That would be my UW Huskies at #8 on page one.

RBs are a "dime a dozen"? actually, #1 ranked RBs are "once a year". a RB ranked #1 by both scout and rivals is about "once every 5 years". so yeah, we don't have a "dime a dozen" RB, we have a "once every 5 years" RB. I can see why you're bitter though if you're a Washington fan.

Why would I be bitter? We have the best QB in the country in Jake Locker, Joe Montana's son is part of a top 10 recruiting class this year, and we have 2 national championships.

LMAO. Washington has 1 national championship. you haven't had a winning season in what, a decade? you play in the 4th or 5th best conference in the country and still can't manage a winning season. It is very likely that Washington would be 0 for the decade if they actually played in the SEC.
There's fans of plenty schools that could talk legitimate smack to a Carolina fan. But a Washington Husky fan ain't one of them.

LOL. we finished the day with the #25 recruiting class. Washington finished with the #28 class. We filled 23 schollies, Washington 31. You will only get 25 of those 31, which means your actual ranking would be much lower than 28th. Guess now we can break down YOUR "mediocre" recruiting class lol. not to mention that 7 of our signees were OL. still managed to snag the top RB and one of the top DBs in the country. I think we have recruited better than Washington in 5 of the last 6 years and no question that we've played better on gameday. do you really want to talk smack about Carolina?
btw, just so you understand, finishing with a #25 class with that few scholarships and 7 OL is nothing short of spectacular.

You are exited about placing 7th in the conference? Must be slim pickens in Carolina

Funny how the two top teams are also undergoing coaching turmoil

Could be argued UW has 4 National Championships, the ones in 1960 and 1991 are for sure, but they also won the National Championship in certain polls in 1985 and 1990...They have won 7 Rose Bowls and 1 Orange Bowl, has S. Carolina ever even played in a major Bowl? Let alone won one? and no, the Outback Bowl is not a major bowl game.

Yes there are several different sites that rate recruiting classes, I'm sure you can find any # of different results, but the 2 best are Scouts Inc., and the one ESPN has, this comes from one of my staff members that works for the Forbes Report (that would be your boy Lou Holtz's scouting company FYI). They both have UW ahead of S. Carolina this year.
Yes, UW has had a rough decade, but won the Rose Bowl in 01 and finished 3rd in the country that year after winning the Pac 10....I suspect S. Carolina has never finished that high ever.
Please don't compare your little hick school to the UW over time, it's embarrassing to everyone. I love Colin Cowherd's statement "Stever Spurrier, the worst head coach in the history of the NFL"

As to your ridiculous statement that the Pac 10 is the 4th or 5th best conference...Get out of your little shell there in Spartenberg and look around the country a little. These are rankings from Scouts Inc (but you can use any site you want they will all say the same thing), the SEC has the best talent in the country every year, the Pac 10 is second......EVERY YEAR.

you could argue until you're blue in the face, Washington has 1 officially recognized national championship. No, we don't have any championships and we also don't play in a conference known as "USC and the Puss 10"

don't talke about "several different" sites, I'm talking about the site that YOU linked to discuss Carolina's "mediocre" class. if they're so mediocre, how come Washington is behind us?

7-8 wins in the SEC = 9-10 wins in the Pac 10. period. Washington can't even get a winning season in the Pac 10, you would very likely not win a game in the SEC.

I'm not anywhere close to Spartanburg. I'm on the coast. did you just look at a map of SC and make a prediction as to where I may be? lol. let's see:
1. SEC
2. Big 12
3. Big 10
4. Pac 10
5. ACC
6. Big East
and the only reason Pac 10 is even #4 is because of USC and Oregon. without those 2, the Pac 10 would be on a level with the MAC.
and no, I don't need to look at Scout. YOU linked Rivals, and it blew up in your face.

Discussing football with you is like discussing it with my 4 year old, neither of you are "worldly" enough to know any better...stay in your little SEC shell in SC.

nope. I start a thread about getting the #1 RB in the country. you go negative by linking a Rivals recruiting ranking. and then it backfires in your face. my team is a mid-tier SEC team, your team is a low-tier Pac 10 team. my team is better than your team. period.

Your team is also coached by the most over rated coach in history. I don't understand why you can't get better recruits. The rest of your athletic department must have serious issues or something.

Spurrier won a conference title at Duke. Then, went to a Florida program which had never done anything and won 6 SEC titles in 12 years plus playing for the national championship twice, winning once. everybody thinks Florida has always been a powerhouse. wrong. they are a powerhouse because Spurrier turned them into a powerhouse. Spurrier is not overrated. now, whether or not the game has actually passed him by is up for debate. but when he was in his prime, no coach could touch him.
as for South Carolina's recruits, since Lou Holtz came here in 1999, we have consistently had top 25 recruiting classes and have had top 10 classes 2 or 3 times, including the year before last. We have gotten the #1 RB in the nation 3 times and 2 different "Elite 11" QBs. So you obviously haven't done your research.

If you had the greatest coach to even sniff a jock you should be in the top 10 recruiting easily, doesn't take research to figure that out.

"coaching" and "recruiting" are two completely different things. sorry you don't understand that.
btw, Sidney Rice was a 2 star recruit that really wasn't recruited by anyone. how'd that work out? how about Jasper Brinkley, a JUCO LB, now the starting MLB for Minnesota.
