Garage Pool?

I'm kinda working every concept on my new tank and have a some thoughts on a system design and need feedback. The tank will be placed on a wall that backs to my garage. I'm thinking about running all the plumbing thru the wall and into the garage. I was just at HomeDepot and saw those inground Koi pond liners and thought that I could use the kidney shaped one (300g), build a stand up off the ground, and run this as my fuge. mount a couple of MH and load it up with LR. I kinda like the idea of keeping everything in the garage it would make testing and etc much easier. Plus I could have a HUGE, rather flat, almost like a tide pool to play with............................................. Another Idea i'm working on is to have a seperate aquarium that is not connected to the main system that I could use to hold my water change, I could mark the water level on the take so that when I fill it with the RO water for the exact same volume everythime, use a gram scale to measure out salt and have a very consistent SG water change available for when I need to do the water change, then I could pump the exact amount of water out of the tank and then just pump the exact same amount slowly back into the tank. I would have a few powerheads to move the water around for mixing and it the top would have a cover I have a floor drain and it would be rather simple to set up a plumbing system with valves to pump water into and out of the tank.......My main question is when we come home will the exhaust from out parked cars create a problem? Would I be better off sealing this system off with walls and doors and exhaust fans?....

IMO, yes. If the garage is a typical one with lots of activity then other chemicals, dust, soaps, pets, bugs, kids, tools, neigbors, ect....... I will stop there.

BangGuy on this site has a lagoon built with a flexible pond liner, so the pond liner is a fine idea.
There is also a guy (oregonreef dot com) who has 800 gallons in his garage and has no problems. The car exhaust isn't a problem if you're not running it very long(normal start ups). His isn't sealed off. However there normally is lots of other things happening in a garage... ie. no using a saw because of sawdust, no cleaning brakes, no spraypainting, etc....

Boy, that sounds like fun.
Careful on the stand. I had a 125 gallon version I used as an actual koi pond. The liners are designed to be in the ground and have the soil help hold it's shape. You may have to do some special rigging to keep it solid.
