well, ive been on the hunt for garlic juice, and the cleanest stuff i can find has garlic juice, salt, and vinegar in it. the vinegar isnt going to hurt my fish, is it? i dont know where to find JUST garlic juice...
Hi--- What I have been doing, is taking fresh garlic , placing it into a blender and liquifying it. Then storing it in a container and soaking their frozen food in it before I feed them.
Buying a bottle of garlic juice in a LFS.... 28 dollars
Liquifying cloves of fresh garlic... about 30 cents
A word or two from Trey.... Priceless.
As an FYI, vinegar is an acid. PH would start dropping depending on how much you add, buffering capability etc.
Vinegar belongs on battered cooked fish only.
Just go to your local food store and get minced garlic in a jar. I take minced garlic, krill and selcon mix it in a little plastic contianner with lid store it in fig.
Just make an amount to last you a week at a time.
Be careful feeding them this stuff.... It doesnt taste good !!!! Give it to them once in a while (like once a week) You can induce them to not eat at all. Besides... The benefit is anecdotal anyway.
i have been using the garlic( I personally pressed about 10 cloves) and mixed it with spirulina flakes. Talk about stinky. YUK!!!! My fish seem to like it though and my ick problem is getting under control. I also added 2 more cleaner shrimp. They have been ridding my singapore angel for 2 days. WHEEEEEE!!!!! Very cute to watch.
