Gemsbok. A new creature on my desk. (don't look if your a PETA member)

A new creature came across my desk today. It's a gemsbok. An African plains animal. Bagged somewhere in Texas. I thought it was pretty new and wanted to share. The knife in the pic is at least six inches from tip to end. Bout the size of a small horse. Lots of work to do today.

Looks like a little guy. They get much bigger than that. There's a handful of large ranches down here stock exotic game like that for hunting.

Ah. I learn something new every day. Lol.
Not often I deal with exotic species. So having something new to mount is kind of exciting.

Took eight hours from start to finish. :) not including drying times. :)
Turned out real nice.

LOL, sip - I don't do fish.
Most saltwater fish that someone catches in the ocean - all you have to get is their weight and length and then give those measurements to a company out of Florida... What they do is take and use a mold and pour a plastic fish... and then they take it out of the mold and professionally paint it and send it to you in the mail. I can't compete with that! I can mount some kinds of fish, like bass and blue gills - but saltwater fish is a whole new ball game.

I was talking about my fish that may die in future and I was kidding bro lol. I would feel terrible looking at them everyday.
but if I catch a marlin, I will look into that.

My wife just today accepted a position overseeing some rental properties for the guy who owns this place here...http://lonesomebullranch.com/Hunting-Price-List.html. Says a lot of people do these hunts and they usually don't take the meat so he always shares it with his employees. This guy might just have to become new best friend.
