I'm planning on getting a 55 for xmas. So far I'm planning on running a hot magnum, protein skimmer, a power head or two, and making it a FOWLR. I cant decide on what I should put in it, as far as fish go. I do know that I want to keep my 1 year old cinnamon clown in it for sure. How many smaller(aggressive) fish could I keep in a tank this size, and what kinds would you guys reccomend. Could I have some sort of an eel in that tank for life? :D

i like the sharpnose puffers the fiji puffer is really intresting they are constantly swimming and searching for food. The problem is it might get a lil nippy with the clown.

You could have a snowflake eel in there for life, there really cool and are fun to watch. Sharpnose puffers, as for them I have 2, they are great fish. One of mine squirts little little drops of water out of the tank at me when he wants food. My figi puffer has beautuful colors and loves to show off. I suggest one of those and an eel. Maybe a dwarf lion? but make sure you got plenty of live rock for everyone. Good luck, bye

were did you see the fiji puffer i would like to get a puffer what one could i get with 2 blue hippo`s and a saddle puffer???

for eels in a 55, you could go for a Snowflake, Goldentail, garden eel, zebra, or other eel like fish like some of the blenny types but these are very agressive. There are other eels of course but more difficult to find.

Take the advice of the other posts....you want a snowflake! They are greeeeeeat eels. They can lives in smaller aquariums, don't get huge and don't menace your fish (very often!). Your clown should survive no problem:) Can't say enough about them. Of all the eels I have (1 tesselata, 1 blackedge, 2 ghost eels, 1 snowflake) my snowflake is probably my favorite:) His name is Harlan and he is cooooool. Here's a nice pic of him with Milton, my blackedge:
