I got a 55 gal and need a protien skimmer. I've been shopping around and dont know which one to get. The 2 i have it narrowed down to are the Red Sea prism, and a Sea Clone. Is there a difference in their quaility? Or is one as good as the other or should I get another kind. I dont want to spend too much. The Red sea is $89 and the sea clone is $85. Thanks for the input

I agree with Kipass, I bought a seaclone when I first started my 55 gallon and hated it. It was such a pain to constantly adjust that I ended up taking it off the tank. I recently decided to go ahead and buy a Remora Pro and couldn't be happier. It cost a bit more but was totaly worth it.

I have just gone through this. Researching a skimmer for my 90-gallon aggressive tank and came to the same conclusion as kipass4130. I have 4 tanks and each have (or have had) a different type of skimmer from SeaClown (as we like to call it) to Prizm to CPR and now I'll will be finally investing in a Euroreef...
