Just took these today, getting the hang of closeups. Still alittle blurry, but getting there.

Can't seem to capture the bright pink of these

Thanks murph
My step son is coming for a visit this weekend, he is a photographer, so hopefully he can help me learn to use the settings better. I am thinking some great pics will be posted during his visit

I used to marvel at some of the pictures that I saw on this site, then I learned a trick. First off you put your camera in the macro mode, it is usually a button with a flower on or near it. However the real trick is that once you take the picture, you crop the area of the picture that you want to show off. Like this. (Sorry if I am sounding mean, I am just trying to help. Unfortunately I am pretty jet lagged right now also
)

I wasn't offended at all. If you notice of all the pics i took (mostly using macro) the first one of my zoos was the most blurry, i think because i tried to get them all in the pic instead of just focusing on just one colony. I will try to crop afew and see what happens. Also the pics where the corals aren't moving from flow seemed to be less blurry.

I have tried a tripod, but when I get the pic in focus it only stays focused a sec, then blurs, same as when i hold the camera. That seems to be the problem, it focuses in but doesn't stay focused long enough to snap the pic for some reason.
