Getting dwarfs-a couple questions first

I have my tank ready and working on hatching my first brine shrimp as a trial run, what are your ""must haves" for your dwarfs? I have found some and may order this week.
I'll add that I have been reading about them for a few months and have talked with Rykna through pm's. The tank,a 12g, has been set up for a few months with dead black sand, I just need to get a couple fake plants, just haven't found any I like.

mossy plants and macro algaes are good, i havent had my dwarf long but he usually hangs out either on my chaeto OR on my tiny white tubeworms, wich may be a cool thing to add to your tank if you ask me. ther eneat to whatch and my dwarf fits his little tail perfectly around them, it's a ncie little hitching spot.
