Getting FREE Zoas!

A coworker is going through a divorce and is forced to sell his established 50 gal. SW setup. He said I can come over Saturday and take whatever zoas I can carry out of there. Wow! I hate to see people go through problems like this, but when opportunity lands in your lap...........

I'm looking to see what advice/tips you guys have as far as transporting, separating, acclimating etc. for this venture. He said that he has several types of zoas. I was planning on covering the back foam wall in my (125) tank with these.
Thanks in advance.

IMO gloves are a must. You never know when a bristle worm is gonna be hiding in them, the rock or under the rock they are attached to.

Don't ya love what you can come up with when a MAD woman is involved? My grandpa got a 1 year old Polaris 400 ATV for 200 bucks. It was a spiteful wife, who the husband was cheating on her. Her rational of the matter was.... He was dumb enough to put OR on this thing and then cheat on me!!!!! So he's losing me and his machine!
Its sad that he has to go through that, in all actuality. A good friend would take it all from him and give it back to him when he could afford it!

Yeah, it's always good to screw each other over, right to the bitter end...

BTW, I was less than a mile away from where the attorney was slain when it happened...
When did MAD get confused for CRAZY???????? Sorry to pluck a sore spot with you, but we weren't referencing the CRAZY people!!!!! Just the MAD women/men, who are vindictive with property not life.

So, anyways I brought home 3 good size frags ( pics to follow) and acclimated (drip) for about 3 hours while I went to go watch the new X-men movie. Came home and put in the dip solution and placed them in my DT. Within an hour they were all open. I have more that I'm going to pick up in about 3 weeks!

Here they are. I love the color on the green ones.
Does anyone know what the things on the right hand side of the first picture are?

for corals acclimating for hours is completely un-needed. just float for 10-15 minutes to acclimate temperature. then add to tank (or do your coral dip, but only if the coral dip is the same temp as the tank).

i dont dip my coral in the correct temp....It may shock em and the critters on the frags a lil but its only a dip for a lil while imoe. Just shake it around in the freshwater and i usually temp acclimate them before i do this. Then back to the DT!!!! No hrs are needed that is correct. I need some coral revive or coralRx. I hear these are some good products!
Nice additions you got raptor! Get some pics when they are fully extended...plz

a lot of people don't. I can't say its wrong not to.
but for me, I've handled a frag or two and I know from experience that sudden sharp temp swings are one of the most likely thing to cause problems in shipped or cut frags. All I can offer is anecdotal evidence, so I guess you can take it or leave it since I don't have "hard data" to back it up. but for me when I am handling a single polyp of zoanthid worth $50 I try to mitigate the risk in the situation.
