Getting hippo to eat algae sheet.

Hi all,
I just picked up a 4" Hippo tang from my LFS:joy: I was wondering how to go about feeding it algae sheets? I bought a 6" by 3" strip of it, tore off about a 2" by 1" peice and clamped it against the glass using my mag float. That was about 2 hours ago and my hippo and my coral beauty show no interest in it? Could it just be that they aren't hungry or should I have thrown the whole sheet in there?
Thanks

They have to get used to it. Once one fish starts to nibble they will all start to tear into it.
Don't let uneaten algae sheets remain in tank, though, as they can pollute your tank as can all uneaten foods. After a couple of hrs, remove the sheet. Try using it during feeding time. Only instead of reg food, give them the sheet. This may get them going.

I had the same problem with my Scopas Tang and Coral Beauty. I soaked it in a small container with a couple of drops of Garlic Extreme and fed it to them in the morning when they're the hungriest and it worked great! Don't feed him anything else at the time. He'll go for it if he's hungry enough.
