Getting impatient

I've been cycling my 40g FO tank for exactly 2 months now(w/3 damsels, and my nitrites are still off the charts. Should I be worried?

yes i think something is wrong there.
did you have the filter going for that period or did you change the filter material while you were cycleing.
or recheck your test kit maybe something is wrong with that

I know the last thing you want to hear is be patient, but my 40 f/o took about three months to get straighted around. Then it seemed as if overnight everything was in check! Don't get frustrated, it will all come together!!

Have you been doing water changes in your tank? That can prolong your cycle. If not, I have no idea.

are you using a protien skimmer or a charcole filter? if so this will also prolong the cycle.
