I have a blue throat trigger in my qt for a few weeks. i am ready to move him to the dt. the salinity in the qt is 1.009. can i just acclimate him verly slowly to the dt water and put him in the same day? I dont want to raise the salinity in the qt becasue i have one other fish in there.

When did you add the other fish? Did that fish have ich? If so then you have to start the time over from when you added him and last saw any spots. It takes a week to slowly raise the SG up to that of the DT.

I am sure Sir Q and I can go round and round on this but IMO the last fish you put in your QT starts the time line for all fish in the QT

It may not have sounded like it, it did to me, but that was the point that I was making. If the new fish was added close to when the original fish was, and never had any ich, then it would be fine to raise the SG of the QT. If the new fish was added a few weeks ago, then that is a different story.
