Two question do I need to remove all other carbon sources. And I have a phosban reactor with de*Nitrate in it should I take that down?

I just want to make sure, but have you done a lot of research on this?
I know Spanko has a thread going with his experiences

If you have these things in place, why do you want to change to dosing vodka? Are these things working for you? What do you expect to gain from carbon dosing?
Just asking.

Weighed it out looked at the pro's and the con's. Did not take this lightly nor am I walking into this blinded. One thing I have learned when it comes to this hobby is research is the key research research research.

then you i assume with all your research you have answered you own question

Large fish load. I have been fighting high Nitrate for over a year in this tank. And I do believe I'm not getting the color(do to high nitrates) out of my SPS's that I should be getting. Vodka dosing would let me feed the tank without my water levels going up and down. Plus along with color more Polyp extension. I have tried many different things to make this tank as healthy as possible. I have run the whole gambit.

I run Chemipure Elite as well as Purigen with my tank. Cannot answer about the phosban reactor as I do not know anything about them but if you are running this pc. of equipment with denitrate I am surprised you have high nitrates.
You running carbon Joe? How about the reactor got some of the fancy technology do you?

No reactor but I just started running carbon (in a media bag in sump) to see if the additional carbon would bring about carbonate precipitation and cloudiness. So fare so good

This is what I have not be able to get my head around. I do pretty much the same thing in all my tank but this one give me so much trouble. You would think my nitrates should be undetectable. Not only do I have the de*nitrate in a phosban reactor(running less then 50gph) and run carbon 247 I have macro in the sump along with a few mangrove plants and I'm still getting nitrates above 20ppm. And I do about a 15% WC every week. This tank being mostly SPS with a few LPS and 2 or 3 Leathers. There are 7 fish in the tank and that's where it starts. Feed the fish raise the nitrates and take away from the coral. From what I have seen and what I have read Vodka Dosing would let me feed the fish AND lower the nitrates. If anyone sees anything I maybe missing I'm all ears.

With that I am thinking you may do well to start a carbon dosing regimen. Do some more reading on the procedure, think about also dosing Brightwell Microbacter 7, or a Prodibio product. This will introduce the bacteria and the vodka will do the "feeding". I use the Prodibio on my 29 biocube but have seen others with larger tanks having success with the Brightwell product. I chose the Prodibio product as it is packaged in ampules under nitrogen to ensure life. The Brightwell product is in a bottle like any other additive and I wonder about the longevity of the bacteria included.
JMO
Also if you do start down this path please read and post your processprogress in this thread so we can help to build it and hopefully get a good cross section of results.

How much would you dose for a 220 gallon tank? All the numbers that I have seen are kinda confusing.
Please use this and go to the first link that comes up. There is a lot to get into before trying this method. Please be aware that there are many adverse things that can happen up to and including collapse of your system so if you are going to go into it do read as much as you can.

Wouldn't Seachem Stability do the same thing?

Perhaps the best advice one can give on any powerful undertaking associated with our tanks

PM me have something to pass on before you got right in and start dosing. There is a lot of information you should have first.
