Getting that Ric to stick

I bought a nice red ric from my lfs. It was on a little piece of rubble. I think thye were fragged and left to stick to pieces then brought to the store. He's been doing well in the tank and has increased in size over the last 2/3 weeks I've had it. The base was never really attached though. It is about the size of a 1/2 dollar w/ dime sized base.
He's completly lifted off the base and I have it in a bowl with rubble now. Can I just put glue on its base and stick it to a rock or do I need him to attach first?

you gotta let it attach to something first. glue alone with only stick for a day or 2. after that, it will come right off. just keep it in with some sand for a week or so, then try glue.
