Getting the Heart Pumping

I just went down to my bank to pull some cash and two cops pull up with assault rifles. I looked at them turned around went back to work. I called the other bank up and asked what was going on. Seems someone tripped the alarm which called in the police. But man did that get my heart pumping. If that had been real and I had been a minute earlier I would have walked in there. Kind of scary.

I think whats even more bizarre is the fact that they only sent two cops to a potential bank robbery.
If that would have happened in detroit, they would have sent out the s.w.a.t. team. Now THAT would be scary!

A man robbed a bank at the edge of our city a month or so ago..there was a serious sounding false call made which got all (all four) of our cops to the other side of town...then robbed the bank, got away on foot. Never did catch him.
Whats funny, My husbands grandma was at the ATM getting cash when it happened, so the cops tracked her down for questions.. but turns out she didnt see ANYTHING!
I was like DAAAYUM gramma.. coulda broke the case, if ya was payin attention! LOL
Its good, noone was hurt, just scared pretty bad. The dude got away with an undetermined amount of dough and and bank was closed the whole next day too.
Now, the city and cops have got with the program and even started up an emergency response team.

I know.. big cities..wow..its way different. our city usually has only five or six cops AT MOST on duty during a 12 hour shift, and thats usually on weekends. On a typical day..its usally 3 , 4 at most.. In the summer they add an extra two on bike patrol Thur. Fri and Sat. evenings..but thats about it for us.
Little towns are supposed to be safer..but times are changing, thats for sure!
I should add too..to this..this was the first successful bank robbery in our city since the Reno Brothers.

I think they had been warned that it was a false alarm.
Talking about heart pounding moments. We have a section of highway up here called the summit. Very steep grade 5% and it gets icy easily. Well I came over the top and I was doing 65 mph. Well the whole section at the top was pure Ice and there had been two accidents previously. So I feel it start to fishtail and at 65 mph on ice this was not good. I spun it. 180 degrees one direction, 180 degrees back the other direction. Right down the middle of the interstate. With an accident on each side of the road right where I spun it out. People standing there on the side staring at me. I got it corrected and continued on. But man did I need to stop and check to make sure I hadn't spoiled myself.

Wow, that was some excitement for the day! Glad it was a false alarm and you and everyone else were alright.

The dude got away with an undetermined amount of dough...
They ALWAYS say that...:nope:
I had a GF that worked as a teller at a bank...And they don't leave the bank until there drawer is "accounted" for to the penny...
It's not like they got this huge pile of money laying around and "they're not really sure" how much the crook took...
