GIANT jawfish:)!

I just got this guy...he is HUGE! I'd say at least 4" long (almost as long as my hand), with a head the size of a large grape...
I have never seen one in stores here...it's a Tiger jawfish (my book calls them "goldspec jawfish"). I'll probably never get another pic of him outside his cave:)

He was $34 dollars at the LFS. Seemed a good price to me since I've never seen one around here before. Our stores get pearlys, duskys and bluespotted jawfish frequently, but never these guys.

How's he settling in? Has he constructed a permanent den yet?
I think he's picked a spot for his burrow. He's been in and out from under the same rock for a few hours now...
very good buy at my lfs he sell them for over $100.00.
Wow! That's a lot of dough. My LFS sells the bluespotted jawfish for about that much, so I have never gotten one. When I saw this one (he's so big) and the price, I just told the kid to bag it up!
I love jawfishes. I have a small pearly in a nano tank and a dusky in with the tiger in my reef. They are quickly becoming one of my favorite fish.

did you buy a mated pair, or did you add another to one you already had? Is there a differnence between males and females? How would I go about introducing another pearly? BTW, I'm moving my single pearly to a 29g soon.

i saw one at the house of fins in greenwich. Oh man, if you ever come to connecticut you must make a pitstop at this place. It's absolutely amazing. Well, the prices are mad but it's amazing. I was in complete awe there. It's a small place but they have tanks tree high and all sorts of fish. I was drooling, it had everything i would ever want but could definetely never afford, curse them! lol

I wish I could afford a bluespotted jawfish. At this point, though, I think it would be overkill anyway. I have three:) and may try to add another pearly if I can find more info on how they mate together.

I want tigers or yellowheads. One of the fish stores around here has a dusky thats cool too. We'll just have to wait and see what I can find
