Gill being covered

Help!! I posted the other day about Morty (snowflake eel) who looked like he had a bubble like thing growing off of his gill. It now looks more like mucous or something growing on the inside of the gill. It is white and covering most of it. He does not seem bothered by it and is continuing to act normally. Could it be some kind of infection or just something normal that happens to eels? I don't want to lose Morty!!!

Goldfish I saw your post the other day and frankly I have no clue what it is you are seeing. I had hoped you would get some answers but it is something that no one may have seen before. I am going to move this to disease in order to hopefully get you more exposure to those who may have a idea.
