Ive heard a lot about adding ginger to fish food in cases of ich and that it seems to be quite effective. CAN ANYONE give their personal say or experiences regarding this remedy. THANKS.{PLEASE REPLY EVEN IF you only know very little about this.

qt is the only real cure for ich. garlic additives can build up immune system and in rare cases make ich leave the animal, but it's still in the tank

No, you're thinking of garlic. And it does not cure ick, it helps get rid of it because garlic make the fish's immune system stronger. Basically, you soak the their food in garlic a few minutes prior to feeding. I use Kent's extreme garlic. In addition to adding it to the food, I drop one drop per 10 gallons every three days. The only way to cure ick are freshwater dips, hyposalinity, or medication.

dude, that's alot of garlic. your skimmer's most likely getting rid of it (don't know if you have one?). add 2 drops to your food once a week. your water will be cleaner and your fish will actually ingest it.

no, ur right, some people are starting to use ginger to stop ick, but i doubt that it will cure it even though some have claimed it has. i think u use it the same way u use the garlic, buy some ginger roots and turn them into a powder, blend it together with some squid or other foods, and feed it to ur fish.
