Given a RBTA

So my friend took down his tank much to my thanks, I got this RBTA... it has been bleached but I do think that it will make a full recovery ( i hope ) the foot looks good. As soon as I placed it in the tank it completely deflated and re inflated and found a nice home in one of my larger rocks, I know it needs to get use to the MH. I just feed her a small chunk of sliver slider and she slowly ate it down. also the foot is very sticky I am pretty sure that is another good sign As far as my other BTA's they are doing well

Oh I don't know if you already did but shade it form the intense lighting with a metal pie plate or foil and slowly expose it to more light every couple of days to keep it from retreating into the rockwork.

update She eat's a small sliver slider but very slowly :( I took some pics to see if anyone can tell a color difference in her so far over the last 7 days. But on the good side, She has pooped once that I have seen, she is still in the same place no wondering around the tank.

So this after noon I noticed that the rbta has closed up, I just checked on it and saw that the insides has started to come out ( I knew she was going to die ) also a brisle worm was picking on it. so I took it out of the tank maybe 5 mins ago, and with some struggling got it detached from the rock. after cleaning off the rock in a dip and replacing it back in my tank, I went to go flush my now dead rbta. OMFG let me tell you when a Anemone dies they SMELL HORRIBLE!! I started to gag and almost puked everywhere it smells that bad... I still don't feel good. ugh..... I am pretty sure I cough it before anything could happen to my tank. ill post a update once I am done feeling sick tomorrow.

My only issue with this your conclusion... is that you struggled to get it detached from the rock. This means it was still alive, to what degree is unknown but JMO. This is what I assessed from your description of events. You fed it, it regurgitated or excreted, the bristle worm was picking on the waste. You saw this stage and it looked to be failing... deflated, stuff expelling, known CUC member picking. I would of assumed the same at first glance but if it was still attached to the LR that would of told me to leave it alone. The smell could of very well of been the excrement, that too is a very bad odor. If it was indeed rotting the animal would of fallen apart in your hands. Its a very messy ordeal and water changes are typically in order. Again just an out side opinion based on your explanation, I truly hope I am wrong.
