Hi everyone.. I was wondering where I can get the rubber/plastic strip that goes between the two front and back pieces of glass for a canopy. It acts like a hinge so you can open the top to feed etc. Mine dry rotted.
Thanks!

I would find out who the manufacturer is on the lids and contact them....If I might ask are you using the glass lids?

Yes... the 4 pieces of glass have no markings or names... so I figured these were just a standard aquarium piece.

The thing about glass tops is that they trap heat and also take away from a normal oxygen exchange. Most people opt for open tops.

Ok... good enough... I guess its just this cycle which started yesterday and today... STINKY!! So I think that got me thinking about the tops :)
Also anyone have any tips for a MRC-1 skimmer... I bought it used.. in great condition, running it in my sump with water right to the top of the box (I have the skimmer raised on a couple of pieces of eggcrate.. this is as high as it will go, it hits the bottom of the tank) anyway the gate is fully open... and no matter what I do it seems to put a lot of bubbles/water into the overflow.. filled a orange juice container in about 1 1/2 hrs.. and it looks just like regular water... I had to put a lot of filter foam between the baffles that lead to the return pump do to microbubbles getting into the DT. Anway.. I dont know of any other adjustments other than putting a valve on the mag 12 to the skimmer.. maybe slow the flow a little? I know everyone says these beckets need a lot of pressure... but I dont think lack of bubbles is my problem...
Thanks!

I wouldn't run a skimmer on a tank that is cycling, since the goal of the skimmer is to remove organic waste and a cycling tank has little organic waste.
