Glass Cleaning

What is recommended to clean the inside glass of my tank?

some people spray ro water on it and wipe it off.. some use windex on a cloth (go to another room to spray it!) and some people use just a dry cloth... im sure there are more ways then that though..

I tried that... rag kinda got wet.... and now my new clowns are floating belly up??? And my snails are melting. Should I not have used the windex with ammonia???
