glass drilling question

i currently have a 125DT with two 1" bulkheads drilled in the upper back corners on the back glass. my question is, say i wanted in the future to up those hole sizes. can i just drill a bigger hole ontop of that, to make the hole a 1.5 inch.
i thought about this and was thinking that i woud have to duck tape the inside of the glass real good so water can stay around the hole. so with the puddy around the hole making it a pool and the tape holding the water in the puddy. its possible....hmmmm
but where im drawing another question is will the glass be too weak after getting it drilled for a 1" hole???

Yes you can re-drill.How much room do you have from the top of tank to top of your current holes?

say about 3.5" from top of tank and side of tank...

thank you,,,,just trying to future plan. i have a possibility of upgrading the sump return in a few months when i redo the living room. really just tinkering with idea's...
