glass lid too large, what to do

I just set up my 20g, I downgraded from my 37g so everything from my 37g is in there except the larger pieces of live rock which I got store credit for ($70). I have my Prizm skimmer and a Millenium 2000 on the tank but there is one problem: The versatop is TOO BIG for everything to fit. I need it to be at least another inch shorter than what it is. I can't put my light onto the tank w/out a lid that fits. What can/should I do? I have corals in the tank that need light so I can't just leave it how it is. Oh plus I have a 24" double strip PC that will be going on the glass lid so I need it to be able to support that weight since it's 6" shorter than the tank.

I just tossed my glass lid. It was trapping in way too much heat. I went to home depot and bought this stuff they use for ceilings. It is little plastic squares (eggcrate I think). It works great!

A glass shop should be able to cut it for you.
