Glass Top

OK, so we got a glass top for the tank. The evaporation was getting up there.
Its a glass top, section in the back that is flexible for wires and such. 2 large pieces of glass connected with a bit of plastic in the middle. I can already notice the light that makes it into the tank is cut down. My first thought was to take the legs off the light fixture, take of the plastic protector from the fixture itself, and put the light directly on the glass.
Suggestions? Or is the amount of light that is cut down insignificant?

Keep an eye on your Temp for the next few days. You may have to adjust heaters depending on what type of lighting you are using.

Yeah your water temp is definately going to go up. That's the main reason I have yet to get a top.
As far as running the PC's...if you are going to sit the light fixture down onto the glass I would remove the covering over the lights. I can tell a decrease in lighting in my tank just when the salt creep gets all over the covering, so I'm sure the glass top is affecting it.
