Gloves

Why is it that people always say, Make sure when you handle LR you are wearing gloves. Does it have something to do with the possible coral?

I guess to prevent stings from bristleworms, aiptasia, majano. I've never worn gloves while handling rock though.

LR can be sharp and cause cuts especially with prolonged handling. You don't want nasty bacteria in a cut.

Sometimes I wear gloves when handling new rock...never know whats on it
