Gluing Frag Onto Live Rock?

I know I would use super glue gel to attach a frag onto a piece of live rock, but do I do this under water or take the rock out?

When I try to do it underwater it never sticks. I take the rock out and pat it dry.

That's pretty much what I figured but I'll have to move rocks around to get out the one I want to glue it on. Do you cover the rock with a wet paper towel or anything like that?

I didn't cover the rock but I had it about for less than a minute.

what I have done if take the rock out of the water. Pat it down with a cloth to absord and water. Put the super glue on the rock then place the zoo's onto the rock. keeping it out of the water for a minute or two. Then place it back ito the water. Super glue will not work with mushrooms or xenia. mushrooms I place rubber bands on the rock and place the mushrooms under the rubber bands. Xenia's I place the stalks under the rubber band. The stalk will attatch to the rock within two days. I do this regularly with xenia's.
