Goby - Shrimp partnership?

I have a great little goby (Amblyeleotris randalli Randall's Prawn Goby) that I think would partner with a pistol shrimp if I got one. I just swapped out my crushed coral for sand, so I think he'll now create a burrow, given the chance. Has anyone ever done this in captivity? Do they need to be introduced to the tank at the same time?
The little fella looks like this:

Back in the day i had a tiger shrimp and a tiger goby..... they were really cool together. From what i gathered, the shrimp digs the goby holes and the goby looks out for the shrimp. I introduced an eel into the tank so that was the end of them. why did i do this? well i am an idiot, thats why

I have paired up a shrimp/goby many times in my tanks (one goby murder and one shrimp death) have led to adding both the fish and the goby to the exsisting partner. In both cases they found each other within 24 hours in my small tanks. I would say to go for it- even if they do not pair they are fun to watch individually!

Go get a shrimp quick! These guys are really cool!

The combo is one of my favorite things to watch in my lil reef.
