Goby-Sleeper or Otherwise

I have a 55 reef, with various mushrooms, star polyps, zooanthids, acro, candy coral, blasamosa, etc. I also have a coral beauty and a perc. clown. I would really like to get some type of goby to keep the sand turned over and clean. I run a plenum, so I wouldn't have to worry about it destroying my DSB, but, because it is a plenum, it would only have a couple inches of sand to burrow in. I guess around the very edges of the tank, it could burrow deeper. Also, I have an open-back canopy over the tank, but no lid. I know a lot of gobies are prone to jumping. Just wondering what advice you could offer. Is there a type of goby that's less prone to jumping and would do well in my system? Thanks.

I have a long filament Prawn Goby or what is known as a Shrimp Goby or a Banded Goby - he digs right underneath a rock and has three little lairs in my little 5 gallon nano. Not sure that would be enough sand movement for what you describe or not.
Have you thought about getting a conch? They stir up sand beds and if you have a true plenum then it would not be able to mess it up.

I had a pair of gold head sleeper gobies. They were constantly cleaning the sand. In my experience with these, the next time I would get one, I would be sure that they were tank raised. They weren't eating the food I was putting in the tank. I now have a watchman, he only cleans around their(pistol shrimp) cave, he doesn't move about the tank. Hope this was a bit helpfull:)

Yeah, I hadn't either until I went to my LFS the other night and was about to buy a watchman goby, and the lady helping me told me she has had 2 jump out of her tank. So, I figured I better re-think my decision.

No promblems with the gobies jumping. The sleepers generally hung around the bottom, and if the wathcman moves 2 inches off the sand bed I'm amazed;), he just sits in the opening of the cave most of the time.
