Going for the gold!

I am having a new stand and canopy made for my 26gallon bowfront to house new lighting, a refugium, and some dosing equipment. On friday I went for the GOLD when I ordered my light. 4 75watt VHO Actinic 03's(yes 4) and one 175watt 10k metal halide. That gives me 475 watts. 18 watts per gallon.

Sounds great!!
Hope you bought a chiller too (unless you like fish stew).
Hope you are a good engineer too . . . cause you are going to have a hard time fitting all that into a 26 bow canopy.

Im having a canopy built around the dimesions of the fixture. The fixture itself is built for a 24" wide tank so its not that big of a deal. Yeah I figured I would need a chiller and ordered a 1/5th hp chiller today. I am totally redoing this whole thing. I pick up my new stand & canopy tonight that I had custom built to house the lighting, a 10 gallon refugium that I built, an autotopoff system, a chiller, and I also got a bakpak skimmer that I will place on the fuge. We'll see how everything works. I'm exited about it.

if you are going to have a pod farm in your fuge then putting the skimmer in there doesnt sound like such a good idea. i would think it should be before the fuge in the water cycle...

We'll see how it goes. Its all one body of water just in different places so I'm hoping it wont make a difference. If it has a negative effect I just wont run it. I dont run one now on that tank and it has by far been my healthiest(reef) tank. The Fuge will eat the nitrates anyway.

i understand that, im saying if your skimmer is in your fuge then you could be skimming pods out of the water. if you run it before the fuge then it will clean the water before the water picks up the pods and goes to the DT.
make sense?
