I have a Coral Beauty and Royal Gramma that both have ick. I also have two clowns that dont seem to have it. Unfortunatly, I'm going on vacation for two weeks this friday and I wont have time to put them in QT for hypo as it is still cycling. Other than soak their food in garlic is there anything else I can get my fish-sitter to do while I'm away? I wouldnt really trust them to do hypo by themself (If they could even get the fish out of the tank). The fish have been showing signs of ick for about a week and a half and they're in a 46g FOWLR. :help:

What do you have in your display tank? Live rock? What size tank?

2 false percs, 1 Coral Beauty and 1 Royal Gramma. I have ~45pd live rock and its a 46g. I've been soaking their food in fresh garlic but it doesnt seem to be doing much. The only help is the cleaner shrimp.

Unfortunately, by the time you return from vaction you might have a real problem on your hands. There is no way to treat ich in tank.

I would soak their food in liquid garlic to help their imune system and add rubby reef kick ich it is safe for fish inverts and corals

kick ich is not proven to kill ich. most "in-the tank medications" doesn't work at all, people may say it works. But the real reason why the ich is gone. Is water conditions have gotten better,it got a better nutrition etc. .. the only medication to kill ich is "copper" and should be never used in a main tank, a method to kill ich is hyposalinity. good luck and don't bother with the reef safe medications.

How did my water get beter? How did the fish go from allmost death to 100 % beter not once but twice in the last year after adding more fish. Only someone with no knoleage would post such garbage. I and sevreal others around here have used kick ich with great results don't knock something you have not tried or gave up on befor you finnshed the full 14 day treatment the ich will disapear on day 15 and be gone untill you add another fish from your lfs that has it. Kick ich will not hurt you corals or inverts I know that is just to hard for you to understand. Spend the $15.00 try it for the 14 days then if it don't work then try the hypo thing. But what do I know I have ony had salt water fish since 1982 and fish tanks since 1977

Kick ICH doesnt' work at all. I've tried it for the past 2 weeks and no luck at all. I've talked to several salt water stores in the past two days and they all laughed at me for using it. It doesn't work, they said i just waisted 30 dollars on a bottle of water that makes your tank cloudy.

I'd say toss the LR in the QT and any inverts....then drop the Main tank to hypo and cross your fingers...
