ok so i have a 12gal nano cube and im planning on getting 2 very small seahorses like 2ins in length. my tank is about 4-5 months old.
they will be the only things in there.
i have just a couple of problems.
1. my temp wont go lower than 80 degrees
2. i have a large pistol shrimp i can not catch
how can i catch the pistol? i really want to get it out.
and i was wondering if i can keep like a small cleaner shrimp along with the 2 seahorses.
also what do they eat? i have marine fusion it has mysid and brine shrimp. please tell me if i need anything else.
thanx

not in a 12 gal tank. Sorry. Its way to small.

You might be able to get away with a pair of Fuscus, but that is a strech. You would also need to get that temp down to about 74 degrees.
Cleaner shrimp would be a no too.

Teresa is right. Just because they are "very small seahorses" now, doesn't mean they'll stay that way. They'll grow, and quickly. There are no seahorses available to the hobbyist that max out at 2 inches, and none really suitable for a 12 gallon nano cube. Dwarf seahorses can manage in 12 gallons of water, but not in a nano cube with other livestock. H. fuscus can manage in 20 gallons of water with really diligent maintenance. Both need water temperatures around 71-74*.

Both the above posts are correct. Honestly, your tank is not suitable for seahorses. Unfortunately in CA it's really difficult to control temps - especially in those "boxed kits" like nano cubes and such.... without using a chiller. Many try, but the temps cause so many bacterial issues that the seahorses don't last very long. It's really a shame that people try it anyway even when they are advised not to. :(
If you are really interested in seahorses.... do a bit more research. I'm just assuming you aren't too familiar with them since you mentioned feeding marine fusion.
In a nutshell.... your best chance at success is buying a 29 gal tank, chiller, and a pair of captive bred seahorses after you've done some more research.

Dwarfs can be kept in small tanks. 3-5-10. But the smaller the tank, the harder to keep cool and keep the water quality up. Dwarfs only get about an inch long and only eat live newly hatched brine shrimp and pods. To even see them in a 12 gal you would need about a dozen.
Mr clownfish must be talking about buying a 2 inch regular sized seahorse which would be just a baby and need lots of extra care. That 2 inch horse would grow to 6 to 8 inch long.

The 2 inch juvis just need extra feedings of frozen mysis and good quialty water.
in a 30 gal you could keep one pair. You can also have a couple of small gentle fish like clown gobies or bangii.
