Dole Pineapple Plant and Maze, Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay for snorkeling (is closed on wednesdays i think so check b4 you go), evening dinner cruise and submarine ride are worth the $150, the Aquarium, Pearl Harbor, Wiamea Falls and Beach, Sunset Beach is a great place to take a picinic sit on the beach and watch the sun go down and of course a Luau...
went in 2002 and it was a freakin blast!!!

I hope you like the city scene because thats Waikiki. Beach surrounded by buildings. I was just there last November. The beach is public as are all the beaches in Hawaii. And Waikiki beach is very small. Bring lots of money cuz everything is insanely overpriced. You want shopping, thats about all there is to do. Shopping and eating. Go to DK's Steakhouse. It was very good. Nothing but high end stores like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada etc. Oh theres always Pearl Harbor lol. If your staying long enough try and do some island hopping. Definitely without a doubt go to the north shore of the island. Do a Luau and go to Sunset Beach. Unbelievable pictures. The waves are sick. Rent a car it will be well worth it. As for diving i dont know but i did see some places that you can go to. I would never go back to Waikiki. Next time i'll go to Maui.

Sorry I dont have any suggestions but Hawaii is my dream vacation. I am glad for you and please please come back and post some pics.
Do you have an underwater camera?
cause snorkeing is a must in any tropical area.
Wish I had one in Cozumel last summer.

Theres lots of work going on there. Trump is putting up a huge building. Theres other construction going on also. I stayed at the Wyndham on the Beachwalk. Had to walk about 2 1/2 blocks to the beach everyday. Get there early if you want a good spot and an umbrella and chairs. Yes you have to rent them. I believe it was $20 a day. They have a great bar on the beachwalk. I forgot the name but it has all kinds of beer from all over the world. Behind the bar is lined with beer taps. The food was good too. Theres also a ruths chris steakhouse on the beachwalk. Oh and i dont mean this in any bad way but there are alot of japanese people and all they do is shop. Go up to the main strip where the shopping is and walk around. Look for a guy who does awesome paintings with spray paint. Hes right on the street and does it right in front of you. Its amazing. He draws some crowd. They also have two indoor gun ranges. I went to the SWAT one. The wife and I had fun. Definitely worth checking out.

We're staying in the Alaii tower or something like that, I have to check the reservation. From what I hear those have bigger rooms but it is a farther walk to the ocean than the other towers.

Just a heads up too. When i was there in november last year you couldnt even walk in the ocean from the beach. There were so many rocks under the water it was ridiculous. I dunno how it is now but you need aqua shoes or your definitely gonna cut your foot open. People didnt know and couldnt see them so they all ran right into the water and i saw a few get hurt.
