Hello all, I really really love my GHS, but he is horendously thin, When i feed the tank, ALL of the other fish snatch up the food before he gets any! He is super shy so when i go to feed the tank, He HIDES and when i go to put the food in the tank, By the time he reappears, THE FOOD IS GONE! I think I have exhauseted all my options! I have no idea what to do next, I dont want to OVERFEED the tank in a vain effort that maybe some food will make it to him. Im talkin hes so thin I can litterally see his spine
> He is my favorite fish and i dont want to loose him but that might be his fate because he is not more agressive in his eating habits!
Any ideas anybody?

Theres not really much that can be done unless you can set up a new tank or place in a fuge so it can feed.
Sleeper/shifting type gobies are hard to keep long term because the require very large healthy alive sand beds that they feed from to get live micro/macro fauna from. Also best to have a fuge that breeds this plankton to replinish the sand bed as the goby depleates it....sorry I cant be more help...

A hospital tank, at this point. Only him and train him on a feeding ritual with "cues" that you can continue into the DT eventually. Maybe a feeding station where he goes to feed.
I'm sorry, I know it is heartbreaking. I hope this helps.

When I got my GHS I put him in my 30g QT with live sand & fed him mysis shimp soaked in garlic (his fav) he ate it at his own pace, slow. When I put him in my main tank he tried to eat at his own pace but soon relized that he was not getting any, all the other fish beat him to it. After about 2-3 days of this he started eating like the others. He knew what it tasted like & he had to step up or starve.... I suggest putting him in a QT & trying to train him & show him what he's missing!!!! It worked for me. :happyfish
