I saw one of these on a different site but I couldn't find much info on it how big does it get? Is it hardy? And what size tank does it need?

I've heard different stories about temperment.
One account, I've heard they've got the temperment of a Niger.
Another account, I'm heard they're as bad as Queens.
Everything I've found, they'll grow to at leat 12" long and are definately not "reef safe".
I've never personally owned one, so you can take what I say as a grain of salt. It'll vary from person to person.
They've rare enough, you're not gonna find too many people who own then. However, less then a year ago, they were selling for $1000 a pop...now, they're down to $250 (even less, on some sites).

From what I read, it's still a pretty new fish, so not many people have a lot of experience with it. I heard the same things though... some people say it's like a Niger some people say it's like a Queen. If you do get one, let us know how it goes.

My lfs currently has two for sale. Both are in the 5 inch range and are $169.00 each. Pretty fish.

Same body as a Queen Trigger, and they reach the same size...I.E., I would tend to treat it like the nasty Queen until I hear different, thus would consider this a single specimen in a tank of at least a 180. Cool to see the prices are dropping so fast on them, I just hope LFS are cautioning potential buyers appropriately.

Yeah...prices have nose dived, since they were introduced (main stream), about a year ago. When they first started being collected on a regular basis again, I saw places selling them for a grand.

Indeed, the reefs of Africa (the sole place this guy comes from) are really uncharted waters IMO. Lots of beautiful fish like the divided leopard wrasse and the Pavo wrasse (thalassoma pavo).
The LFS down in Ft. Lauderdale that rythms with Rig Al's has smaller one, 10" or so (look up how big they get), in their 2000gal FO tank. One of the most peaceful fish besides a equally impressive GoldenBack trigger. However, I suspect in something less then 300gals, it's 'colors' most likely will start to show.
Oh, sorry, didn't see one of your questions was size. They puppies grow up to be mastiffs, fishbase says 23.6", yikes!

Yeah . Thats not the kind of monster that I would want to keep unless I had a tank well over 300 gallons . I have herd of people with queen triggers in a 300 that claimed that was still too small of a tank .
